Qualifications of Recreation Director:

• Ability to communicate effectively with multi-disciplinary team
• Creating, planning, implementing monthly calendars and newsletters
• Computer knowledge and experience using Point Click Care
• Creating, planning, and implementing Facility Event Calendar for staff
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
• Ability to manage time effectively
• Developing person-centered large and small group programs, hospitality, and special sensory activities

Responsibilities of a Recreation of Director:

• Follow budgetary guidelines for the department.
• Supervising the Recreation Department personnel
• Developing care plans, monitoring systems and all documentation requirements
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance programs, State survey processes, Residents’ Rights

Requirements of a Recreation Director:

• Must possess an (ADC) Activity Director Certified, (CDP) Certified Dementia Practitioner, or (CTRS) Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
• Minimum 2 years of experience in long-term care, as a supervisor
